KEY QUOTES
Head Coach Tom Black
On what today says about the team and what to be excited for…
"It tells me it's day one. A ton to work on. Glad we got the W's. Still finding our identity out. We have a lot of good pieces. It's just a matter of how we come together."

On what you saw from some of the newcomers and from the veteran leaders…
"A lot of bright spots from the newcomers. I thought Gigi Artiles did an awesome job offensively, scoring a lot of balls really hard from the front row to the back row. Marin Collins, she's going to be a great player, awesome to get her on the court. I thought her serving pressure was really tough. Bianna Muoneke, our veteran, she's our leader in a million ways. Ana Julia Bleeker did a great job as a libero. It was great to see her have a big role. We have a ton of depth in the middle, so I thought all four- Kendal Kemp, Ceci Gooch, Emma Bryson, Tori Harper- they all give us so much. They can all come in and contribute. A lot of pieces, and obviously our setting, Chloe Elarton did a great job. Kaiya Tyson can come in, as she did, and contribute."

On opening day…
"I mean, it felt great. We've been here since June practicing in Ramsey, and so playing in Stegeman for a game that actually counts towards our record is just such a great feeling. I love wearing the red, I love being a Dawg. It's been a great experience, first game today."

On playing alongside Bianna Muoeke…
"She's one of my favorite people to play with. Us being the same position, honestly, it's not more of a competition; we're always helping each other, we're always giving each other advice, and she just has such great energy all the time. I love playing next to her; she makes my job so much easier."

Chloe Elarton | So. | S
On starting the season…
"Yeah, it feels good to be back out here. We've been in preseason for almost a month now, so having to face a real team for something that matters towards our record is really exciting, and it just shows all our hard work out there."

On a quick turnaround to Saturday's match…
"We just show up in the morning, we do our film, we do our own stuff, like recovery stuff, and then we really just lock in as a team in the locker room beforehand and understand that these games matter just as much as games in a few months in SEC play."
