A Look at What's Ahead
Georgia will host Stetson, UMBC, and Ohio State this weekend in the 16th Annual Bulldog Classic Feb. 28-March 2 at Jack Turner Stadium. The Dogs open action on Friday against Stetson at 3:30 p.m. then UMBC at 6 p.m. Georgia will then open SEC play in Athens when No. 7 Tennessee comes to town for a three-game series beginning Friday, March 7 at 6 p.m.

Let's Recap
Georgia remained unbeaten on the season, winning five more games at home over the weekend at the Georgia Classic. The weekend began with a run rule win over Buffalo. Georgia trailed for the first time against App State and had to overcome a three-run deficit to remain perfect. A pair of wins over then-undefeated Syracuse and a 10-0 run rule over Utah Valley capped the 5-0 weekend. Jaydyn Goodwin hit and impressive .667 (12-for-18) in the tournament with three triples. Sarah Gordon hit three home runs and drove in 12 runs, a third of Georgia's run production on the weekend. In the circle Lilli Backes earned three wins in 13.2 innings of work.

Bulldogs Off to Historic Start
Georgia's 14-0 start to the 2025 season is officially the second-best start in program history. Georgia's best-ever start was 24-0 in 2002. This season is the seventh time UGA has opened the season 10-0 or better and the first since 2017 (12-0).

Starting Strong
36 of Georgia's 111 runs (32 percent) have come in the first inning. The Bulldogs have scored five or more runs in the first inning six times in 14 games so far. UGA has pushed a run across in the first inning in nine games.

Roelling it Back(es)
Lefty pitchers Lilli Backes and Randi Roelling combined for 21 and two-thirds shutout innings on opening weekend and four of Georgia's five win in the circle. The pair struck out 28 batters ans paced a staff that held batters to a .136 batting average on opening weekend. Roelling gave up just three hits in 12 innings in her first week as a Bulldog, holding batters to a .075 batting average.

Feeling Good
Dallis Goodnight started the season hitting .615 on opening weekend with a .688 on-base clip; both averages leading the team. Goodnight's first at-bat, the first at-bat for the Bulldogs in 2025, was a home run. She scored seven of Georgia's 38 runs in Orlando and stole four bases.

Young Pups on Roster
Eleven of the 20 student-athletes on Georgia's roster are freshmen or sophomores. Of that 11, a combination of eight (7 freshmen, 1 transfer) are all newcomers to the roster. Four of the freshmen (Paislie Allen, Tyah Charlton, Ester White, Mua Williams) appear on freshman watch lists by D1Softball and Softball America.
