ATHENS, Ga. --- The fifth-ranked University of Georgia equestrian team opens Southeastern Conference competition against No. 6 Auburn on Friday, October 7 at 2 p.m. at the UGA Equestrian Complex.

The Bulldogs are 1-0 after beating then-No. 7 Baylor by a slim margin last week in the season opener.  Three Bulldogs collected Most Outstanding Performer honors for their rides. Junior Emma Reichow scored an 88 in Fences and sophomore Catalina Peralta received a 92- her career-high score. Graduate Kendall Gill earned recognition for her score of 77 in Horsemanship and was named the SEC Rider of the Month. The Tigers open their 2022-23 campaign against the Bulldogs in Bishop.

Georgia is 28-24 against Auburn all-time with an 11-6 mark at home, including last season when the Bulldogs upset No. 1 Auburn, 13-7, in Bishop.  It marked the first win against Auburn since the 2018 SEC Championship, and the first at home since 2016.  It was the largest margin of victory over the Tigers since 2015 in the first round of the SEC Championship.

Admission to the UGA Equestrian Complex is free and the first 75 fans will receive a t-shirt.
