Let's Recap
Georgia won the NCAA Durham Regional last weekend, defeating Coastal Carolina and No. 14 Duke along the way. Mua Williams' three RBI and a complete game in the circle by Lilli Backes led the Bulldogs to a 6-3 win over Coastal Carolina in comeback fashion after the Chanticleers went up 3-0 in the first. Three Bulldog home runs behind a complete game by Randi Roelling powered Georgia past the Blue Devils on Saturday, 8-2, to advance to the regional final. Duke used a six-run sixth inning to down the Bulldogs on Sunday, 8-1, to force a winner-take-all Game 7. Down 2-1 in the seventh, Hannah Davilla's pinch hit leadoff double set up Lyndi Rae Davis to drive in the tying run and force extras. Jaydyn Goodwin's leadoff home run in the eighth sparked a three-run frame, lifting Georgia to the 5-2 victory and a punched ticket to the Super Regional round.
