A Look at What's Ahead
Georgia returns home to open a five-game homestand next Wednesday when Mercer comes to town on Wednesday April 2. That game will air live on SEC Network. The Bulldogs will welcome No. 5 Texas A&M to Athens for a three-game series beginning Saturday, April 5. The series will conclude on SEC Network on Monday, April 7 for Mic'd Up Mondays.
Let's Recap
Georgia defeated No. 17 Oklahoma State, 8-4, on Wednesday evening in a top 25 midweek showdown in front of 1,682 fans at Jack Turner Stadium. The offense scattered a season-high 14 hits. Jaydyn Goodwin and Dallis Goodnight each recorded three hits, which were season highs for the duo. Four other Bulldogs had two hits apiece: Tyler Ellison, Sarah Gordon, Emily Digby, and Paislie Allen. Lyndi Rae Davis, Mua Williams, Allen, and Goodnight all drove in a run on the night. Lilli Backes entered in the sixth inning with bases loaded and slammed the door on the Cowgirl rally. She closed the game en route to her first save of the season.
Battle Tested in SEC Play
In Georgia's softball's 29-year history, the Bulldogs have never opened SEC play against three straight top-10 opponents until this season. The only time a Georgia team came close was in 2017 when UGA faced four top 25 opponents to start SEC play (No. 17, 12, 5, 3).
Packing The Jack
Georgia fans have already set a season attendance record at Jack Turner Stadium with 41,088 fans packing The Jack so far in 2025. The LSU series saw three top-10 crowds including breaking the attendance record in game three (2,478). The series drew 7, 098 fans, setting a new Jack Turner Stadium series attendance record.
Ellison Emerging as Offensive Leader
Junior Tyler Ellison has emerged as Georgia's hottest hitter in 2025. She currently leads the team with a .373 batting average and .507 on-base percentage while ranking second with a .644 slugging. She's knocked five home runs and recorded 17 RBI. Ellison had just 34 at-bats in her first two seasons and has taken advantage of every opportunity this season, working into a starting role on the right side of the infield. She's provided a walk-off hit in three games in 2025 (CSUB, Ohio State, Tennessee).
Goodwin Paces the Offense
Junior Jaydyn Goodwin is having a career year so far. She leads the team with a .373 batting average, .686 slugging, 27 runs, 38 hits, 30 RBI, six home runs, four triples, six doubles, and 70 total bases. Goodwin has registered the most multi-hit games (11) and multi-RBI games (9).
Starting Strong
44 of Georgia's 189 runs (23 percent) have come in the first inning. The Bulldogs have scored five or more runs in the first inning six times. UGA has pushed a run across in the first inning in 15 games, going 14-1 in those games. The Dogs are 13-1 when leading after the first inning.
