March 25, 2025 | Swimming & Diving, Men's Swimming & Diving
FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – The University of Georgia men's swimming and diving team travels west to take on the nation's top competition at the 2025 NCAA Division I Men's Swimming & Diving Championships, running March 26-29.
The meet opens in earnest on Wednesday with the 200-yard medley relay and 800y freestyle relay, followed by the full competition slate starting on Thursday, March 20. For each day of action, prelims will begin at 1 p.m. EDT, followed by diving prelims at 3 p.m. and finals at 9 p.m. EDT. Live coverage of the meet will stream on ESPN+, with live results available here and to paid subscribers on the MeetMobile App at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center.
Seven members of the Georgia men's team qualified for the NCAA Championships, with graduate Jake Magahey making his fifth appearance and redshirt senior Luca Urlando and junior Ruard van Renen appearing in their third NCAAs. Sophomore Tomas Koski and junior diver Renato Calderaro are in their second nationals, while sophomore diver Matthew Bray and freshman Drew Hitchcock are making their debuts.
The Bulldogs' championship roster is bolstered by four relay alternates: senior Reese Branzell, redshirt sophomore Kristian Pitshugin, and freshmen Tane Bidois and Elliot Woodburn.
Georgia is looking to improve upon last season's 11th-place finish in Indianapolis, where the Bulldogs earned 24 All-America citations, including three First Team honors for Magahey and one for Koski and van Renen. This is the third NCAA Men's Championships being held in Federal Way, following 2008 and 2012. In both previous editions, Georgia won individual national championships: Sébastien Rouault (500y free, 1,650y free – 2008), Gil Stovall (200y fly – 2008), Chris Colwill (1-meter – 2008), and Martin Grodzki (500 free, 1650 free -- 2012).
