Koski Named SEC Men’s Swimmer of the Week

ATHENS, Ga. – Georgia senior Tomas Koski was named the first Southeastern Conference men's swimmer of the week of the 2026-27 season Tuesday afternoon, as announced by the league office in Birmingham.
Koski received the honor for his performance last Friday as No. 15 Georgia took on No. 7 NC State, No. 10 Virginia, and No. 18 Alabama in its inaugural College Swimming League match. The Alpharetta native earned the Bulldogs' lone victory of the evening in the 500-yard freestyle, posting an NCAA cut time of 4:12.85. The mark set a CSL meet record and established a new top time nationally.
Koski also finished second in the 200y freestyle with a time of 1:33.57, the 10th-fastest time nationally. He also anchored Georgia's fifth-place 200y freestyle relay, turning in a 20.02 leg for a final time of 1:19.61.
For Koski, this is his first SEC Swimmer of the Week honor. He was previously named SEC Freshman of the Week three times during his 2023-24 freshman season.
Koski and his Georgia teammates will return to competition with a dual meet at Texas A&M on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 11 a.m. in Bryan-College Station, Texas.
