Georgia Hosts Opening Day of Bulldog Invitational

ATHENS, Ga. – The University of Georgia swimming and diving teams hosted a full day of competition at the Bulldog Invitational Last Chance Meet Saturday at Bauerle Pool at Gabrielsen Natatorium.

- Sophomore Tomas Koski added to his repertoire with a B-cut time of 14:47.73 in the men's 1,650y freestyle, ranking him 19th nationally after his first collegiate swim in the event. Redshirt senior Luca Urlando also made a collegiate debut in the men's 500y freestyle, earning a B-cut time of 4:14.97.
- Freshman Katie Belle Sikes and graduate Julianna Stephens turned in big drops in the women's 50y freestyle, with Sikes notching a new PB of 22.03 and Stephens going a best time of 22.39.
- Junior Thomas Askew posted a new personal-best time of 46.26 in the men's 100y butterfly, earning a B-cut. Fellow junior Steven Insixiengmay also matched the feat with a personal-best B-cut of 53.26 in the men's 100y breaststroke.
- In the women's 500y freestyle, senior Abby McCulloh posted a B-cut time of 4:38.83 in the morning session, while graduate Sloane Reinstein went 4:40.14 in the evening meet.
- Junior Sam Powe clocked a 1:40.47 in the men's 200y backstroke, while senior Mitchell Norton posted a season-best B-cut of 1:40.88. His sister, Emma, turned in a personal-best b-cut of 1:46.35 in the women's 200y freestyle.
- In other season-best efforts, freshman Will Gavin went 20.00 in the men's 50y freestyle, junior Aaron Seymour swam a 1:35.43 in the men's 200y freestyle, and freshman Elle Noecker dropped a 1:02.06 in the women's 100y breaststroke.
