AUSTIN, Texas — The College Swimming League (CSL) today announced that the University of Georgia will compete in its inaugural season as one of the league's participating institutions. Georgia joins a field of top NCAA programs in the CSL's debut.

Georgia is the second of the 12 teams that will be competing in the CSL to be announced by the league.

The CSL is a brand-new, dynamic league poised to revolutionize college swimming with high-octane, fan-focused competition. The inaugural season will feature a six-match regular season and a two-match postseason in a four-team format, with each participating institution competing in two regular season matches with 14 men and 14 women per team.

"Few programs carry the history Georgia does," CSL CEO Robert Kent said. "The Bulldogs have been a force in this sport for decades, and bringing a name like that into our first season gives fans a program they already know and respect. Their tradition and the energy that comes out of Athens are going to make every match they're in worth watching."

"Georgia is going to be a tough team to contend with from day one," CSL COO Kyle Sockwell said. "Stefanie (Williams Moreno) and Neil (Versfeld) have built rosters with real depth, and depth is what wins in a format where every lineup decision swings the match. This is a program with seven national titles in its history, so the Bulldogs know how to show up when it counts."

Further details regarding scheduling and additional participating teams will be announced at a later date.
