ATHENS, Ga. – The 10^th-ranked Georgia softball team run-ruled Michigan State, 10-2, in game five of the Red & Black Showcase at the Jack Turner Stadium on Friday evening. Junior Jaydyn Goodwin's three-run home run in the fifth lifted the Dogs to the run-rule victory.

Georgia improves to 7-0 on the season.

FAST FACTS

Senior Rachel Gibson earned her second win of the season pitching four innings in her start, striking out a pair of Spartans hitters. Senior Lilli Backes relieved Gibson in the fifth inning, striking out two batters to close the game.
Goodwin's second home run of the year pushed the Bulldogs to an eight-run margin and clinched Georgia's second win of the weekend. The junior tallied three hits and four RBI in the game.
Junior Marisa Miller added three RBI off two hits for the Bulldogs, with graduate Lyndi Rae Davis, junior Sarah Gordon and sophomore Emily Digby also each plating a runner.
In all, the Georgia offense plated 10 runs off 12 hits.
