The 10th-ranked Georgia softball team opens its home schedule this week, hosting the 18th Annual Red & Black Showcase Presented by T-Mobile. The Bulldogs will welcome Michigan, Michigan State, Longwood, and Western Carolina in the four-day, 12-game tournament beginning Thursday evening at Jack Turner Stadium.

Fan Information and Upcoming Promotions at Jack Turner Stadium
- Single-game tickets can be purchased on GeorgiaDogs.com. All seating is general admission. There is no reserved seating.
- The primary entrance to Jack Turner Stadium is located at the third base gate. Gates open one hour prior to first pitch or one hour before the first game of the day for home tournaments. Season tickets holders can enter the stadium 90 minutes before first pitch.
- Parking is available in the lot closest to S. Milledge Ave. The back lot is reserved for select season ticket holders.
- All concessions and merchandise transactions will be cashless. The UGA Bookstore has a merchandise shop located under the soccer grandstand.
- The UGA Clear Bag Policy is in effect.

- The last meeting was 10 years ago in the 2015 Super Regional when Michigan swept the Bulldogs to advance to the WCWS

- Georgia leads the all-time series 7-1
- The Bulldogs are 5-0 against the Spartans in Athens, most recently winning two games in 2017

A Look at What's Ahead
Georgia will host the 18th Annual Red & Black Showcase at Jack Turner Stadium next weekend, Feb. 13-16. The Bulldogs will welcome Michigan, Michigan State, Longwood, and Western Carolina to Athens for the four-day, 12-game tournament. The action begins under the lights on Thursday when Georgia takes on Michigan at 6 p.m.
 
Let's Recap
Georgia opened the 2025 season going 5-0 at the Black & Gold Classic in Orlando. The Bulldogs picked up three run-rule victories and outscored their opponents 38-4 on the weekend while hitting .403 as a team. The pitching staff allowed just three earned runs for a 0.72 ERA on opening weekend. Lilli Backes and Randi Roelling earned two victories each, combining for 21 and two-thirds shutout innings and combining for 28 strikeouts.
 
Roelling it Back(es)
Lefty pitchers Lilli Backes and Randi Roelling combined for 21 and two-thirds shutout innings on opening weekend and four of Georgia's five win in the circle. The pair struck out 28 batters ans paced a staff that held batters to a .136 batting average on opening weekend. Roelling gave up just three hits in 12 innings in her first week as a Bulldog, holding batters to a .075 batting average.
 
Feeling Good
Dallis Goodnight started the season hitting .615 on opening weekend with a .688 on-base clip; both averages leading the team. Goodnight's first at-bat, the first at-bat for the Bulldogs in 2025, was a home run. She scored seven of Georgia's 38 runs in Orlando and stole four bases.
 
Young Pups on Roster
Eleven of the 20 student-athletes on Georgia's roster are freshmen or sophomores. Of that 11, a combination of eight (7 freshmen, 1 transfer) are all newcomers to the roster. Four of the freshmen (Paislie Allen, Tyah Charlton, Ester White, Mua Williams) appear on freshman watch lists by D1Softball and Softball America.
 
Mike Davenport Joins Coaching Staff
Mike Davenport joined Tony Baldwin's staff as an assistant coach in August. Davenport comes to Athens from North Georgia, where he was the head coach for 24 seasons. He guided the Nighthawks to DII national championships in 2015 and 2023, accumulating over a thousand victories in his tenure at UNG. His head coaching record is an astounding 1,094-280 (.796), and he is a member of the Georgia Dugout Club Softball Hall of Fame (January 2020). He's coached numerous All-Americans, including two National Players of the Year in Courtney Poole (2015) and Kylee Smith (2018).
 
Heath Hired as Player Development Coordinator
Karly Heath was hired as the program's Player Development Coordinator in August. Heath comes to Georgia following a stint as the graduate assistant at Louisiana on Gerry Glasco's staff last season. Heath was an All-American pitcher and outfielder at Louisiana from 2021-2023.
 
Construction Completed at Jack Turner Stadium
Georgia recently opened its new $38.5 million softball training facility at Jack Turner Stadium. The new facility features more than 20,000 square feet of student-athlete development space, including a four-lane batting cage with a full practice turf infield, weight room, locker room, team lounge and nutrition space, video room, an athletic training room, as well as a mud room and equipment room. The coaches offices were also renovated in phase two of the construction along with a completely new playing surface and new home bullpen.
