No. 3 Georgia Travels to Texas for Pair of Meets

February 13, 2025 | Equestrian

ATHENS – Coming off a tiebreaker win over the second-ranked single discipline Lynchburg, the University of Georgia Equestrian team launched into the top three of the National Collegiate Equestrian Association rankings.

No. 3 Georgia (5-2, 3-0 SEC) will now travel to Texas for a pair of top-10 matchups against No. 6 Texas A&M on Friday, Feb. 14 at 1 p.m. ET at the Hildebrand Equine Complex in College Station before traveling to the Dallas Equestrian Center in Dallas to take on fifth-ranked SMU on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 11 a.m. ET.

This will be the second meeting between the Bulldogs and the Aggies this season. Georgia upset the previously second-ranked Aggies with a tiebreaker win, 9-9 (1592.5-1574.5). Georgia boasts a 24-14 all-time record against the Aggies. The teams met twice last year, each taking home a win.

Texas A&M (5-4, 1-3 SEC) is coming into the meeting on a two-meet losing streak. The Aggies suffered a 11-9 loss at No. 8 South Carolina on Feb. 8 before returning home to host a trio of matchups.

The Bulldogs fell to SMU (5-4) in the fall season in Bishop, 11-7. The Mustangs tallied two wins to start the spring schedule, toppling South Dakota State, 19-1, and the Aggies, 13-6.

Georgia owns a 5-3 record against SMU and has won three of the last five meetings. The Bulldogs and Mustangs are meeting for the first time since the 2022-23 season.
