ATHENS, Ga. – The University of Georgia swimming and diving teams opened the 2025 portion of their schedules with a sweep of UNC Wilmington Saturday at Bauerle Pool at Gabrielsen Natatorium.

  • The Georgia men prevailed in all 16 events during Saturday's meet, while the women's team earned 14 victories in competition.
  • Fifth-year senior Luca Urlando touched first in the 200-yard freestyle with a new personal-best time of 1:32.05, the 10th-fastest time in program history. Urlando is now the fourth-fastest performer in program history in the event. Sophomore Tomas Koski also rewrote the record book with a winning PB of 42.59 in the 100y freestyle, remaining the eighth-fastest performer in program history. Graduate Jake Magahey also entered at eighth all-time in the 200y IM with a winning time of 1:42.99.
  • Junior Ieva Maluka added two more B-cuts to her ledger with wins in the 100y backstroke (53.19) and 100y butterfly (52.76), giving her provisional cuts in six different events.
  • Junior Shea Furse earned her first win of the season with a time of 9:55.70 in the 1,000y freestyle. Senior Duné Coetzee later notched her first victory of the year with a 1:59.31 in the 200y butterfly.
  • Freshman Katie Belle Sikes led a top-three sweep in the 50y freestyle with a B-cut of 22.39. Senior Reese Branzell won the men's spring at 19.84, while freshman Tane Bidois took second in his debut with a time of 20.08.
  • Fifth-year Tommy-Lee Camblong picked up a B-cut in the 1,650y freestyle with a top time of 15:15.30. Freshman Kyler Heffner narrowly missed the provisional cut with a second-place time of 15:21.96. Redshirt sophomore Kristian Pitshugin also grabbed a B-cut in the 100y breaststroke with a winning 53.08.
  • In diving, sophomore Michelle Cummo qualified for Zones on 1-meter with a winning score of 273.38, followed by freshman Ivy Buckley taking the 3-meter with a new PB of 277.95. On the men's side, senior Rhett Hopkins prevailed with a mark of 351.83, with junior Renato Calderaro won the 3-meter at 372.00. Senior Allen Mann qualified for Zones on both springboards after already earning a spot on platform.

Georgia heads back on the road to take on No. 5/9 Tennessee in their annual meeting next Saturday in Knoxville. The meet begins with diving at noon, followed by swimming at 2 p.m., with live coverage on SEC Network+.
