Recapping Action
Georgia passed its first SEC road with flying colors, sweeping a three-game series at Ole Miss over the weekend. Lilli Backes pitched a one-hit shutout in the series opener. She went on to earn the win in all three games. Lyndi Rae Davis provided the winning hit, a three-run bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth to win the series on Saturday. After a long 1-1 gridlock in the finale, Georgia put together a three-run seventh to go ahead 4-1 and secure the road sweep of the Rebels.
 
A Look at What's Ahead
Georgia returns to Athens to host No. 20 Arkansas in a three-game series at Jack Turner Stadium. The series begins Saturday at 12 p.m. on SEC Network. Sunday's noon matchup is set to air nationally on ESPN 2. Monday's SEC featured game will begin at 7 p.m. on SEC Network. Head coach Tony Baldwin will be mic'd up as part of Mic'd Up Mondays.
 
Coaching Connections
Kennesaw State assistant coach Brea Dickey was a member of the Georgia softball team in 2016 and 2017. She played in 78 games for the Dogs, splitting time in the outfield and as the DP. She transferred to Kennesaw State in 2019 and concluded her career in 2021 as an NFCA All-Region honoree.
 
Leadoff Lyndi Finds New Home in Order
Lyndi Rae Davis has found a new spot at the top of the Georgia batting order. Since taking over the leadoff role on March 8, Davis has drawn 18 walks in 13 games and put together a .577 on-base clip. She leads Georgia with 28 walks this season. Her 0.93 walks per game ranks second in the SEC and sixth in the nation.
 
Walk This Way
After drawing 23 walks in the Ole Miss series, Georgia climbed to sixth in the country in total walks and third in the SEC. Total, Georgia has drawn 136 walks this season, led by Lyndi Rae Davis' 28 free bases.
 
Goodwin Has Monster Game Against Georgia Southern
Sophomore Jaydyn Goodwin had a career game against Georgia Southern on March 20, blasting two home runs, one of which was a grand slam, driving in six of Georgia's 17 runs in the game. It was the first time she hit two home runs in a game and it was her first career grand slam. Both home runs were on the first pitch of her at-bats.
