QUICK KICKS
Back-to-Back
Exactly one year to the day of their previous meeting, No. 7 seed Georgia faces No. 2 seed and nationally fifth-ranked Arkansas in a rematch of the 2023 SEC Tournament final, with the winner of Tuesday's match advancing to Thursday's semifinals. The Bulldogs used an early own goal in last year's final to pull off a 1-0 upset victory over the Razorbacks, clinching the first conference tournament title in program history. Georgia advanced Sunday with a 1-0 win over Texas A&M, while Arkansas has not played in nine days since a 5-0 win at Ole Miss on Oct. 27. A Georgia victory would give the program its first ranked win since last year's Arkansas win and only the fourth-ever win over a top-5 opponent.

Georgia leads Arkansas, 13-6-5, in the all-time series, although the teams are tied, 1-1-1, in previous SEC Tournament matchups. The Bulldogs are now 15-19-4 all-time in the SEC Tournament and are looking to reach the semifinals for the third-consecutive season, a feat never accomplished in program history. Under coach Keidane McAlpine, the Bulldogs are unbeaten (5-0-1) in SEC Tournament matches.

Back Like They Never Left
Dasia Torbert's first-half goal proved to be the difference as No. 7 Georgia eliminated No. 10 Texas A&M, 1-0, in the opening match of the SEC Tournament Sunday. After a pair of early chances, Torbert put Georgia on the board in the 19th minute as fellow grad midfielder Nicole Vernis picked off an Aggie pass and kicked ahead for the assist. Torbert used her right foot to deposit the ball in the bottom left corner from 16 yards out. The win was Georgia's third-straight against Texas A&M in as many seasons.

Brown's Best
Junior goalkeeper Jordan Brown has provided consistent excellence for Georgia throughout the season, earning the No. 29 spot in Top Drawer Soccer's Midseason Top 100 Player rankings. Brown was the third-highest ranked goalkeeper in the country and highest-ranked in the SEC. The Las Vegas native was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after shutting out Tennessee with six saves on Oct. 18. During the Auburn match, she became the fifth keeper in program history to reach 100 saves in a season - with four more, she'll pass Ashley Baker (112 - 2012) for third and remain in striking distance of Nicole Williams' 122 posted in 2000. She also ranks third all-time in program history with 20 shutouts, along with leading the league in saves per game and total saves, while ranking second in save percentage – all three rank in the top 20 nationally as well.

Strong Slate
Throughout his early tenure in Athens, Keidane McAlpine has made it a point to challenge his team with a difficult non-conference schedule. This year's schedule is no different with the slate currently ranking as the seventh-toughest nationally (first in the SEC) with a current .642 win percentage, bolstered by nine opponents ranked top-30 in RPI. In 2023, the Bulldogs were the only Power 5 school to play a team from each of the other four leagues. This season, they are one of five with the distinction, joining Texas, Iowa, Michigan, and Baylor.

Dawg Bites
  • Junior goalkeeper Jordan Brown and graduate midfielder Nicole Vernis were named to the Second Team All-SEC Sunday morning. Brown is the fifth Bulldog goalie to earn All-SEC accolades and the first since Emory Wegener in 2020.
  • Georgia's draw at Auburn on Oct. 24 clinched the Bulldogs' third unbeaten SEC road slate in program history (2007, 2022, 2024). With Sunday's win against Texas A&M, Georgia is 12-2-7 in road and neutral matches against SEC opponents under Keidane McAlpine.
  • Georgia has displayed a great ability to play with the lead this season, holding a 8-1-2 record when scoring first in a match, with Mississippi State being the lone loss in such matchups this season.
  • Against Auburn, graduate forward Tori Penn made her 85th appearance for Georgia, placing her eighth in program history. Penn is the Bulldogs' active career leader in appearances, shots, and shots on goal, while ranking second in points and goals.
