
Georgia Heads to California for First Road Meet

ATHENS, Ga. ---Â The No. 4 University of Georgia equestrian team heads to California for its first road trip of the season to face No. 9 UC Davis and South Dakota State this weekend.Â

The Bulldogs (2-1, 1-1 SEC) will first compete against South Dakota State in Flat and Horsemanship on Friday afternoon before finishing that meet with Fences and Reining on Saturday morning.  Following the conclusion of the neutral site meet, Georgia will face No. 9 UC Davis, beginning at 3:00 EST. Â

Georgia is 2-1 against South Dakota State all-time and this marks the first time the Bulldogs will compete against UC Davis. Â

The South Dakota State Jackrabbits are 1-0 after defeating Minnesota Crookston 14-1. Â

The UC Davis Aggies dropped their season opener to Texas A&M and then upset Auburn. UC Davis will face South Dakota State on Friday.  Â

Georgia moved to No. 4 in the NCEA polls after defeating then-No. 3 Texas A&M.  Previously, the Bulldogs dropped a close contest to then-No. 5 Auburn and defeated then-No. 7 Baylor to start the season. Â
