DAVIS, Calif. --- The No. 4 University of Georgia equestrian team won two meets on its trip to California.  First, the Bulldogs (4-1, 1-1 SEC) defeated South Dakota State, 13-3, before topping No. 9 UC Davis, 11-9, on Saturday afternoon at the UC Davis Equestrian Center.

Georgia riders collected five Most Outstanding Performer honors from the two meets. They won both Flat and Horsemanship honors. Against SDSU, Senior Ceci Bresch (Flat), junior Emma Reichow (Fences), and graduate Kendal Gill (Horsemanship) earned honors for their rides. Against UC Davis, junior Sophia (Flat) and Gracie Himes (Horsemanship) were recognized for their rides.

"I am extremely proud of how these ladies came out and rode," Georgia head coach Meghan Boenig said. "This was our first road test on totally unfamiliar horses, we've never been here to UC Davis before. There were so many things that were different we really gritted it out. I'm proud of them stepping up and helping each other and keeping spirits lifted and continuing to ride hard.  I just couldn't be more proud.  I love seeing all of these MOPs and the determination coming down to the last event to really bring it home."
