ATHENS, Ga. --- The No. 16 Georgia softball team (19-3) completed its third undefeated weekend at home, taking down the Michigan State Spartans (12-4) 8-0 in five innings to conclude the Bulldog Invitational on Sunday afternoon.

Junior Brittany Gray (12-1) got the start and win in the circle, pitching the complete game with just two hits allowed. Her performance combined with a stout Bulldog defense contributed to the shutout win, as MSU only had six baserunners in the game.

At the plate, Cortni Emanuel and Sydni Emanuel led the Bulldogs with two hits apiece at the top of the lineup. C. Emanuel crossed home plate twice while adding three stolen bases, giving her 26 on the year. S. Emanuel and sophomore Lacey Sumerlin each added two RBI apiece.

Georgia jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first inning before opening it up with a four-run second inning. In the second, Justice Milz scored one of her two runs of the day on a C. Emanuel hit before the junior came home on a wild pitch. Back-to-back walks to Kendall Burton and Alyssa DiCarlo set up runners for Sumerlin to bring in on a double, making it a 6-0 lead.

The Bulldogs sealed the run-rule victory in the third with Milz and Ciara Bryan making their way home in the frame.

Georgia goes back on the road for its next games, heading to Orlando, Florida, for a tournament at Central Florida. The team's first games are on Friday, March 10 against Mercer and Ohio State. The Bulldogs also face host UCF and Delaware State over the weekend's action.
