FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – With goals on both sides of the half, the University of Georgia soccer team earned its second point of Southeastern Conference play with a 2-2 tie against Arkansas Thursday evening before 1,395 spectators at Razorback Field.

Georgia (3-3-4, 0-1-2 SEC) earned the draw despite being outshot by Arkansas (3-4-2, 1-1-1 SEC), 18-9, including a 6-4 advantage in shots on frame. The Razorbacks also tallied 16 corner kicks, the most ever drawn by a Bulldog opponent, topping the 15 racked up by Vanderbilt two weeks ago.
Senior midfielder Kiera Staude led the Bulldogs with three shots, while fellow senior midfielder Honoka Hamano amassed two. Graduate goalkeeper Jordan Brown posted four saves in the contest.
After each team knotted an early shot on frame, the first half ran fairly quietly until a late scoring surge. In the 39^th minute, Sabrina Jones' entry pass went over Brown's head, allowing Kyndal Ewertz to score with an empty net header.
The Razorbacks' lead proved to be short-lived as the Bulldogs equalized in the 43^rd minute. Freshman forward Lola Manuel's corner kick was bandied about in the box before sophomore forward Mona Childs, celebrating her 20^th birthday Thursday, slid the ball into the net for her second goal of the season.
Georgia quickly took the lead in the second half as junior midfielder Kieryn Jeter took Staude's pass and pushed the ball by Razorback keeper Keegan Smith in the 47^th minute. For Jeter, it was the first goal of her collegiate career, while Staude tallied her fourth assist of the season.
Following the Georgia goal, Arkansas increased the pressure, resulting in Lauren Van Rhein equalizing in the 52^nd minute as she headed in Zoe Susi's corner kick. Buoyed by Brown in goal, the Bulldogs were able to withstand the pressure and seal the draw despite tallying only shot in the 43 minutes of play.
With the tie, Georgia has now earned a point in 18 of 21 SEC road matches under head coach Keidane McAlpine (2022-present).
