Georgia Track and Field Set for 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Georgia men's and women's teams travel to Eugene this week for the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field, scheduled for Wednesday through Saturday.
» The third-ranked Georgia men begin the meet on Wednesday after winning the team national championship at the same facility in 2018. The top-ranked Lady Bulldogs come to the University of Oregon campus after collecting the program's first NCAA women's team crown in 2025 and start competition Thursday. As usual, the Southeastern Conference has the most combined entries, this time featuring 146 on the women's side (53 more than the next conference) and 145 for the men (41 more than the next conference).
» Ten of the 12 NCAA meets between 2013-25 (2020 meet was canceled due to COVID) were in Eugene and the 2026 version is the first of three more consecutive Nationals at Oregon.
» Georgia qualified 27 individuals (three relay alternates) in a combined 16 events from the NCAA East Prelims in Lexington, Ky., on May 27-30, plus a heptathlete and decathlete auto qualifier.
» Maximus Tucker will start his first five events of the decathlon on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET (100m, long jump, shot put, high jump, 400m). On the track, Le'Ezra Brown will make his Nationals debut in the 110m hurdle semifinal at 9:08 p.m. while Jordan Davis and Nick Reynolds will begin the field event action in the javelin at 9:15 p.m.
» The Lady Bulldog 4x100m relay team is set to compete in the semifinal round at 8:05 p.m. Thursday. The only field event competitors for Georgia on the women's day one will be Kelsie Murrell-Ross and Nina Ndubuisi in the shot put at 10:10 p.m.
» Other than the decathlon running Wednesday-Thursday and the heptathlon going Friday-Saturday, the meet is set up to be a men's competition on Wednesday and Friday and a women's competition on Thursday and Saturday

» Trio of Dawgs sweep both indoor and outdoor SEC awards that were announced Monday by the SEC. Kimani Jack was named SEC Men's Newcomer Field Athlete of the Year after sweeping the both indoor and outdoor conference titles in the men's high jump. Jonathan Simms garnered SEC Men's Freshman Runner of Year for the outdoor season for a spectacular effort in both the 400m and 4x400m relay in his debut year. Fellow freshman Adaejah Hodge was named SEC Women's Freshman Runner of Year after sweeping conference titles indoor and outdoor in the 200m dash. Hodge also contributed excellent performances in both the women's 4x100m and 100m dash over the course of the outdoor season.
