BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Infielder Gabi Novickas was tabbed as the Southeastern conference's freshman of the week for her performances last weekend in the series against No. 8/6 Florida.

Novickas was active offensively and defensively all weekend in Georgia's series win over the No. 8/6 Gators. After tallying a hit in the series opener, Novickas was a perfect 3-3 at the plate with a run and two RBI in the game two, walk-off win. She sparked the Bulldog comeback driving in the first run of the fifth inning that saw Georgia climb from down 2-7 to up 9-7. In the rubber match, Novickas blasted her second grand slam of the season to clinch the walk-off, run-rule win over the Gators, 9-1. Defensively, Novickas recorded a co-team-high 13 put-outs and fielded one double play with a perfect fielding percentage. She remains the only freshman SEC first baseman to start every conference game, as well as one of five conference first basemen with a 1.000 fielding percentage.

Georgia will travel this week to Lexington, Kentucky for the 2026 SEC Softball Tournament at the John Cropp Stadium. The Bulldogs begin play in the second round as the No. 9 seed against the eighth-seeded LSU Tigers on Wednesday night at approximately 8:00 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.

Tickets for the 2026 SEC Softball Tournament can be found on Ticketmaster or by contacting the University of Kentucky Athletics Ticket Office.
