Georgia Faces Nation’s Best at NCAA Men’s Championships in Atlanta

March 24, 2026 | Swimming & Diving, Men's Swimming & Diving

ATLANTA – The University of Georgia men's swimming and diving team makes the short trip down the highway to take on the nation's top competition at the 2026 NCAA Division I Men's Swimming & Diving Championships, running March 25-28 at Georgia Tech's McAuley Aquatic Center.

Each day of competition will begin morning sessions at 10 a.m. featuring individual prelims and timed relay finals for all but the top eight seeds, followed by finals at 6 p.m. The early heats of the mile finals will also be contested Wednesday morning. In the evening sessions, only 'A' finals will be contested in individual events, and the top eight seeds will swim their relays.

Live coverage of the meet will stream on ESPN+, with live results available here and to paid subscribers on the MeetMobile app.

Eight members of the Georgia men's team will compete at the NCAA Championships, with seven-time All-American senior Ruard van Renen making his fourth appearance, seeded third in the 100-yard backstroke. Junior Tomas Koski is making his third appearance, while sophomore Drew Hitchcock and senior Cale Martter are in their second championships. Four Bulldogs will be making their individual debuts, led by sophomore Elliot Woodburn, who was a relay alternate last year, along with freshmen Sean Green, Finn Hammer, and Hayden Meyers.

The Bulldogs' championship roster is bolstered by four relay alternates: senior Roman Valdez, sophomore Tane Bidois, and freshmen Sascha Macht and Kris Mihaylov. Bidois is appearing at his second NCAAs, with the other three making their debuts.

Last season, Georgia surprised with a seventh-place finish, the first top 10 finish of coach Neil Versfeld's tenure. The Bulldogs recently finished fourth at the SEC Championships in Knoxville. Koski is seeded ninth in the 200y freestyle, with Hitchcock seeded 10th in the 200y butterfly and 12th in the 400y IM. The Bulldogs will compete in all five relays at NCAAs, led by the seventh-seeded 400y medley relay.
