JOHN'S ISLAND, S.C. — Led by an even-par 72 from freshman Gabriella Albert, the Georgia women's golf team fired a 15-over 303 in Monday's first round of the Briars Creek Invitational on John's Island, S.C.

Five Fast Facts
• The Bulldogs are in 14th place on the team leaderboard with 18 holes to play.
• The tournament was originally scheduled to feature 36 holes of competition on Monday but was shortened to 18 due to a lengthy lightning delay. The tourney will now feature two rounds instead of three, with the final 18 holes to be contested on Tuesday.
• Albert was steady throughout her loop. She teed off from No. 8 with the shotgun start and immediately made birdie. After bogeys at No. 16 and No. 18 on the back side, Albert notched a birdie at No. 5 before a pair of finishing pars.
• Albert is 17th on the individual leaderboard, while Trinity Beth, Sydney Givens and Karoline Tuttle, who all shot 77 to round out the Bulldogs' counting scores, are tied for 67th.
Celine Brovold Sanne, who is competing individually, carded a 2-over 74 and is 36th individually.
