ATHENS, Ga. – A two-run top of the seventh inning lifted No. 3 LSU past No. 13 Georgia in the series opener on Friday evening in front of 2,323 fans at Jack Turner Stadium, 5-3.

Georgia put the tying run on in the bottom of the inning, but the rally fell short in the end. Georgia falls to 22-7 on the season and 2-5 in SEC play.

Friday's attendance of 2,323 is now the fourth-largest crowd in the history of Jack Turner Stadium.
Randi Roelling suffered the loss in her sixth complete game. She pitched seven innings, allowing five runs on seven hits. She struck out four Tiger hitters.
Tyler Ellison went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in her first game at the leadoff spot in the lineup. Emily Digby also added two hits with a run at the bottom of the lineup.

It's also Saturday at The Jack with a face painter, balloon artist, kid's zone, and inflatables pregame. Kids fifth grade and younger can run the bases after the game.
