Bulldogs Conclude Indoor Regular Season With Five Event Wins At USC Invite

COLUMBIA, S.C. --- Nine Bulldogs brought home an impressive five wins and four improvements to the school's all-time top-10 list as Georgia concluded the indoor regular season at the USC Invite in Columbia, S.C. on Saturday.

  • Skylynn Townsend leaped 13.31 meters/43 feet, 8 inches to win the triple jump in South Carolina. The freshman improved her No. 8 mark in program history with the performance.
  • Jayden Keys posted a season-best and facility-record mark of 7.61m/24-11.75 on his third long jump attempt to win the event in Columbia. The freshman also matched his No. 9 time in program history in the 60-meter hurdles, clocking a 7.96 to finish first in the prelims, but did not compete in the finals.
  • Micah Larry clocked a 6.58 in the 60-meter dash to post the fastest preliminary time of the day while moving into third on Georgia's all-time top-10 list. Larry led a group of three Bulldogs in the top four in the prelims as Brody Buffington (3rd) and Jehlani Gordon (4th) posted times of 6.69 and 6.71, respectively.
  • Gordon took the win in the 60m finals, clocking a time of 6.64 for a season-best time. The sophomore also finished second in the 200m with a time of 21.14.
  • Karsen Phillips clocked a time of 7.35 to win the 60m while moving into 10th in program history in the event. She posted a 7.42 to finish runner-up in the prelims, joining Reign Redmond (7.32) in creating a Georgia 1-2 sweep to advance to the finals. Redmond did not compete in the finals.
  • Kaila Jackson earned the victory in the 200m, running a season-best time of 23.18 to lead the field across the finish line. Phillips added a third-place finish in the event with a time of 24.47.

Up Next
Georgia will open postseason competition at the Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships on Feb. 27-March 1, returning to Bryan-College Station for the second time this season. The meet will be held at the Fasken Indoor Track & Field facility on the campus of Texas A&M.
