
Bulldogs Set For Razorback Invitational

ATHENS, Ga. --- The Georgia track & field program is set for its second indoor meet of the season this weekend, travelling to Fayetteville, Ark., to compete at the Razorback Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

The Arkansas-hosted meet will be held at the Randal Tyson Track Center and marks the second of five indoor regular season meets for the Bulldogs. Georgia is participating in the Razorback Invitational for the second-straight year while also returning to the site of the 2024 SEC Indoor Championship meet.

Who's The Competition?:Â Student-athletes from 13 different squads will take the track in Fayetteville, nine of which come from the Southeastern Conference. Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Texas join Georgia in representing the SEC while Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Oregon, and Utah round out the field.

When Do The Bulldogs Start?: Jordan Fick and Maximus Tucker will open competition for the Bulldogs on Friday in the men's heptathlon, which is set to begin with the 60-meter dash at 12:45 p.m. ET. Nikolai van Huyssteen will kick off the field events with the pole vault at 3 p.m., while Kieley Gayle will take the track for the 800m at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, action will begin on the track at 11:35 a.m. with the women's 60m qualifying round featuring Sanaa and Sole Frederick. The final three events of the heptathlon will commence with the 60m hurdles at noon, while a quartet of Bulldogs will compete in the women's triple jump starting at 3 p.m.

Where To Catch The Action:Â There will be ESPN streaming coverage of the Razorback Invitational starting at 6:30 p.m. ET on Friday and noon on Saturday.

Coach Caryl's Comments:Â "We saw some promising signs last weekend in the opener and hope to continue that progress this weekend," Georgia head coach Caryl Smith Gilbert said. "This meet usually begins to ramp up the competition level, which is productive since the indoor season is so brief. Excited for our group who will be making their season debut and to see if we can improve on our existing performances. GO DAWGS!"

What Bulldogs Are Competing?: A total of 35 Bulldogs are set to compete at the Razorback Invitational. For the men, Brody Buffington, Jacob Carruthers, Shemar Chambers, Jordan Fick, Will Floyd, Ian Hodge, Jayden Keys, Eddie Kurjak, Micah Larry, Joseph Minecci, Ryan Olree, Ervin "Flash" Pearson, Xai Ricks, Conner Rutherford, Maximus Tucker, Nikolai van Huyssteen, and Zavien Wolfe are set to compete in Fayetteville.Â

LAST WEEK'S FLASHBACK – Ted Nelson Invitational (Jan. 24-25): The Bulldogs opened the 2025 indoor season in Bryan-College Station, Texas, at the Ted Nelson Invitational. Georgia walked away with six event wins, three top-10 marks in program history, two meet records, a facility record, and an NCAA-leading mark in a strong opening weekend. Butler earned a victory in the 400m with a meet and facility record while anchoring the 4x400m to the NCAA lead and No. 3 in Georgia history, running the race with Oakley, Smith, and Harris. Other event winners included Larry (60m), Kulichenko (high jump), van Huyssteen (pole vault), and Townsend (long jump).

Indoor SEC Honors:Â Kulichenko earned SEC Women's Co-Field Athlete of the Week honors following her high jump victory at the Ted Nelson Invitational. The senior cleared 1.90 meters/6 feet, 2.75 inches on her third attempt to defeat her nearest competition by eight inches. She moved to No. 4 on the national list with her best career effort in an indoor opener.

Where This Season Will Take The Dogs:Â Georgia will take a week off from competition before splitting the squads between Clemson, S.C. for the Tiger Paw Invitational and Nashville, Tenn., for the Music City Challenge on Feb. 14-15. The Bulldogs will wrap up the regular season at the USC Invite in Columbia, S.C., on Feb. 22.

Georgia will open postseason competition at the Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships on Feb. 27-March 1, returning to Bryan-College Station for the second time this season. The NCAA Indoor Championships will be held two weeks later as the indoor season wraps in Virginia Beach, Va., on March 14-15.
