Georgia volleyball concludes its non-conference schedule this weekend against ACC opponents NC State and No. 7 Georgia Tech.Â

The Bulldogs will travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas to take on the Wolfpack Thursday at 4 p.m., ET, in Barnhill Arena on the campus of the University of Arkansas. Georgia then returns to Stegeman Coliseum to host the Yellow Jackets Saturday at 7 p.m. in an in-state rivalry showdown.

Georgia had its first road test of the 2022 season last weekend in Boston. The Bulldogs concluded the weekend 3-0 with wins over Iona, Northeastern, and Harvard. Georgia had to comeback in every match after falling in the first set to all three opponents. The offense shined for Georgia led by senior Kacie Evans and junior Sophie Fischer. Evans tallied 3.46 kills per set while Fischer registered a 3.31 average with a .473 hitting clip on 74 swings. Fischer was tabbed MVP of the Harvard/Northeastern Challenge while Evans and sophomore Bailey Cox earned all-tournament team honors.Â

Ace, Ace, Baby
Georgia has consistently had strong serving since Tom Black's arrival in Athens and 2022 has been no difference. Nationally, Georgia's 2.22 aces per set ranks 16th while checking in at third in the SEC. Georgia's 71 total aces ranks second in the league. Individually, Kacie Evans and Abby Maesch rank in the top 100 in the country and sixth and seventh, respectively, in the SEC.Â

After nine matches in 2022, Kacie Evans' 4.34 kills per set ranks 23rd in the country and second in the SEC. She's leading the conference with a 5.16 points per set average, a clip that currently ranks 15th in the country.Â

Evans Joins 1,000-Kill Club
During the third set of Georgia's match against Texas Tech Sept. 3 at Stegeman Coliseum, senior outside hitter Kacie Evans became the newest member of Georgia's 1,000-Kill Club. She is the 19th all-time member of the club and the second under Tom Black, Rachel Ritchie (2017-21) being the other.Â

The University of Georgia held fast at No. 16 in U.S. News & World Report's 2023 ranking of the best public universities in the nation, marking the seventh consecutive year that UGA has placed in the top 20. Georgia is one of only two SEC institutions to rank among the top 20.Â
