TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – A six-run sixth inning lifted No. 4 Alabama over the 15th-ranked Georgia Bulldogs 9-3 Sunday afternoon at Rhoads Stadium, evening the series at a game apiece.Â

Georgia falls to 31-6 on the season and 5-3 in SEC play.Â

Senior Lacey Fincher contributed two of Georgia's seven hits, adding an RBI. Sophomore Ellie Armistead's sixth home run of the season put Georgia ahead in the third.Â

Senior Lauren Mathis worked four total innings in her start. She allowed three runs on four hits. Freshman Kylie Macy (8-2) suffered the loss in relief. Georgia used four total pitchers in the contest including Britton Rogers and Riley Orcutt.Â

Armistead led off the third inning by sending the first pitch of the frame over the wall in left to go ahead 1-0. Jaiden Fields reached on a one-out walk, stopped at third on a double from Sara Mosley, and tagged up and scored on a sac fly off the bat of Fincher to widen the lead to 2-0.Â

A leadoff single in the home half of the inning came in to score on a two-out double to cut Georgia's lead in half, 2-1.Â

Georgia found life with a pair of two-out walks in the top of the fourth. Savana Sikes delivered a base hit to center and pinch runner CJ Landrum raced around third, scoring from second on the hit, widening the Bulldogs' lead back to two, 3-1.Â

Alabama knotted the game at three-all in the bottom of the inning with an RBI double and a one-out single off Mathis. Macy entered with one out and worked out of the jam, sending the game to the fifth tied at 3-3.Â

A two-run home run from Jenna Johnson put the Crimson Tide in front 5-3 in the bottom of the sixth. The Tide added four more on three RBI singles in the inning to widen the lead to 9-3.Â
