The Georgia softball team split a doubleheader with Ole Miss dropping the first game 1-0 before winning the second 10-3.

ATHENS, Ga. --- The No. 14 Georgia Bulldogs (39-14, 11-10) won the series against Ole Miss (36-17, 10-11) after splitting the decisions in today's doubleheader.
The Georgia offense struggled at the plate in the first game as it produced five hits in a 1-0 loss. However, the bats came alive in the second game, putting up 13 hits in a 10-3 victory.
Georgia returns to action on Friday, May 6 at 7:30 ET as the Bulldogs travel to Tuscaloosa to take on the Crimson Tide of Alabama in the last SEC series before the SEC Tournament.
Game one--Ole Miss 1, No. 14 Georgia 0
Georgia fell to Ole Miss in the first game after Ole Miss scored its lone run in the fourth inning.
Miranda Strother got things rolling for the Rebels with an infield single followed by a walk to Courtney Syrett. Kylan Becker then stepped up to the plate and connected with a double to center field, scoring Syrett. The solo run would give Ole Miss the lead and the win.
Chelsea Wilkinson (22-5) suffered the loss after pitching all seven innings with three strikeouts and three walks allowed while Madi Osias (19-6) took the win, walking four and striking out eight.
Tina Iosefa, Brea Dickey, Alyssa DiCarlo and Sydni Emanuel were the only Bulldogs with hits, as S. Emanuel had two and DiCarlo connecting with a double. These five hits allowed the Bulldogs to threaten with base runners, but they would leave eight on base in the game to Ole Miss' five.
Game two--No. 14 Georgia 10, Ole Miss 3
Georgia took the rubber match of the series 10-3 after battling back from down 3-0 in the fourth inning.
Brittany Gray (11-7) earned the win as she pitched four innings, giving up six hits and three runs. Wilkinson entered into the game in the fifth inning as relief pitching three innings with only one hit allowed, earning her first save of the season.
After taking the lead early in the second inning, Ole Miss continued to have success at the plate and added another run in the fourth inning, making it a 3-0 ballgame in the Rebels' favor. However, Georgia answered back as they found the rhythm needed at the plate to take the lead and solidify the win.
In the fourth inning alone, Georgia had seven hits and eight runs with two of the hits being home runs. Iosefa, Alex Hugo and Kaylee Puailoa each had singles to start things off, loading up the bases for Katie Browne. Browne sent a grand slam soaring over left field for her first home run of the year and a 4-3 lead.
Sumerlin, Kylie Bass, Maeve McGuire, and Alyssa DiCarlo each contributed to the action in the fourth, with DiCarlo connecting for a three-run home run to increase the lead 8-3.
The Bulldogs weren't satisfied with the eight runs scored in the fourth, so they added two more in the sixth to make it a 10-3 game. Dickey continued the rally with a double followed by a McGuire single. Iosefa stepped up with bases loaded, and ripped one to left field, scoring Dickey and McGuire.
