Georgia’s 2027 SEC Baseball Schedule Announced

ATHENS, Ga.-----The defending Southeastern Conference champion Georgia Bulldogs will open the SEC portion of their 2027 baseball schedule at Kentucky, according to announcement by the SEC office Tuesday as they released league slates for all 16 schools.
The Bulldogs will begin their 30-game conference schedule March 19-21 in Lexington against the Wildcats. Georgia's SEC home opener will be March 25 against Mississippi State as the Easter Weekend series will be Thursday-Saturday. Georgia's other four SEC home series will be against Auburn (Apr. 9-11), Vanderbilt (Apr. 16-18), Alabama (May 7-9) and Texas (May 20-22).
Along with UK, the other SEC road series will be at defending national champion Oklahoma (Apr. 2-4), Tennessee (Apr. 23-25), LSU (Apr. 30-May 2) and Florida (May 14-16).
The 2027 SEC schedule is subject to change for television, including the move of some conference series to begin on Thursdays. For example, the Georgia-MSU series at Foley Field during Easter weekend has already been moved to Thursday-Saturday.
For the third straight year, SEC baseball teams will play a three-game series against two permanent opponents and eight rotating opponents for a total of 30 conference games. Standings will be kept in a single-division format. Georgia's permanent opponents are Auburn and Florida. The league determined permanent opponents on several factors including geography, traditional opponents and strength of schedule. A nation-leading 12 SEC teams earned NCAA Tournament bids in 2026 with a record five SEC advancing to the College World Series (CWS). Six different SEC schools have combined to win the past seven national championships in Omaha.
Georgia will begin fall practice Sept. 24 under the direction of Ike Cousins head baseball coach Wes Johnson who enters his fourth season. Johnson led the Bulldogs to a school-record 53-14 mark in 2026 that culminated in the team's seventh trip to the CWS. Along the way, Georgia captured the SEC regular season and tournament titles plus won a thrilling NCAA Regional and Super Regional at Foley Field.
Georgia's regular season non-conference schedule will be announced later this year. Information regarding the Steve Webber Fund and renewals will be available in mid-November with single-game tickets on sale in late-January. The 2027 college baseball season begins Feb. 19.
The SEC Tournament returns to Hoover, Ala., and will be held May 25-30. It will feature all 16 teams in a single-elimination format. SEC Tournament tickets will go on sale in March at SECsports.com. NCAA Regional action will be June 4-7 with Super Regionals slated for June 11-14, both played at various campus sites. The College World Series (CWS) will be conducted June 18-28 in Omaha, Neb. The SEC has claimed seven consecutive baseball national championship by six different programs since 2019.
Georgia's top returning hitters include junior Henry Allen (.321-13-41 in 46 games) and senior Jack Arcamone (.302-4-21 in 35 games) while on the mound, the Bulldogs welcome back six pitchers including graduate Paul Farley (8-2, 4.98 ERA, 1 Save in 22 games) and senior Zach Brown (2-0, 4.00 ERA, 2 Saves in 20 games). After having a school record and national-leading 13 players selected in the 2026 Major League baseball Draft, the Bulldogs brought in 28 newcomers. Georgia's portal class has been ranked among the nation's best by multiple outlets. Georgia's class once again features a combination of power pitchers and hitters.
According to D1baseball, Georgia's top-rated hitters from the portal include Mikey Bell, Jake Hanley and Naulivou Lauaki Jr., all who ranked among the top 50. On the mound, Georgia had four newcomers listed among D1Baseball's top 50 transfer pitchers. They were right-handers Cristofer Cespedes, Marcos Paz, Luke Howe and Jason Flores. These Bulldogs, along with catcher Hunter Carns and pitchers Finn Edwards, Riley Goodman and two-way player Gio Colasante, made Baseball America's top 150 transfer portal player rankings.
