Albert Leads Bulldogs In First Day Of Cougar Classic

Hanahan, S.C. — Sophomore Gabriella Albert paced the Georgia women's golf team in the opening rounds of the Cougar Classic at Yeamans Hall Club on Monday.
Five Fast Facts:
• Albert shot rounds of 73 and 74 on the par-71 layout, leaving her tied for 47th on the individual leaderboard at 5-over 147.
• As a team, Georgia shot 295 and 203 during the 36-hole day, placing the Bulldogs in 17th place among a field featuring seven teams ranked in the top-25 of the Golfweek and Golf Channel preseason polls.
• Freshman Liva Krøl Anderson led Georgia in the first round with a 1-over 72. The Bulldogs also counted Albert's 73 and a pair of 75s from Ashley Shaw and Karoline Tuttle.
• Albert provided Georgia with its low loop in the second round, with the Bulldogs also using a 75 from Tuttle, a 76 from Krøl Anderson and a 77 from Shaw.
• Following Albert on the individual leaderboard, Krøl Anderson is tied for 59th at 148, Tuttle is tied for 70th at 150, Shaw is tied for 81st at 152 and Marcia Garcia is 88th at 154.
