Bulldogs Come Back to Beat Gamecocks in SEC Opener, 3-2

ATHENS, Ga. – The University of Georgia volleyball team defeated the South Carolina Gamecocks in five sets (25-22, 19-25, 21-25, 25-17, 15-10) on Wednesday in the SEC opener at Stegeman Coliseum.

Georgia climbs to 9-2 on the season with its sixth-straight win and remains undefeated at home at 6-0.

FAST FACTS

Senior Bianna Muoeneke tied a season-high 27 kills with a .328 hitting clip on the outside. She added eight digs with three blocks and a pair of service aces. She finished the match with a season-best 30.5 points for Georgia.
Sophomore setter Chloe Elarton tallied her second-straight double-double with 46 assists and a career-best 17 digs, leading the team in digs.
Graduate Kendal Kemp led the team with five blocks. Georgia tallied 7.5 blocks as a team.
Graduate Tori Harper and freshman Gigi Artiles each tallied eight kills. Harper hit .400, and Artiles put up eight digs on defense.
With Georgia down one set going to the fourth, the offense began to fire as the team hit .467 in the fourth and .579 in the fifth to come back and win the match in five sets.

"I think we didn't quite finish as fast as we wanted to, but it really showed our team's resilience and grit. We really came together in the fourth and the fifth sets and really played Georgia Volleyball."
