NORMAN, Okla. — The No. 1-ranked and 4-seeded Georgia women's tennis team (18-5, 12-3 SEC) fell short of the SEC Tournament championship match, dropping a 4-1 decision to No. 15-ranked and No. 9-seeded LSU (19-8, 8-7 SEC) on Saturday at the Headington Family Tennis Center.

LSU secured the doubles point with wins on courts three and one, taking an early 1-0 lead.
On court three, Carolina Kuhl and Addison Lanton (LSU) defeated Emma Dong and Hayden Mulberry (UGA), 6-2, to give the Tigers the first edge in doubles play.
No. 67 Cadence Brace and Kayla Cross (LSU) clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win over No. 10 Anastasiia Lopata and Patricija Paukstyte (UGA) on court one.
In singles, No. 68 Dilek fell first on court three, dropping a 6-4, 6-2 decision to Ella McDonald to give LSU the 2-0 lead.
Paukstyte answered on court six with a 7-5, 6-2 win over No. 110 Kenna Erickson, giving Georgia it's first point on the board.
No. 54 Anastasiia Gureva fell on court four in three sets to No. 108 Lanton, 6-2, 2-6, 3-6, as LSU regained momentum.
No. 20 Lopata dropped court one, 5-7, 1-6, to No. 18 Brace, clinching the match for LSU.
