March 06, 2026 | Equestrian
BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – Georgia equestrian senior Tessa Brown has been named SEC Flat Rider of the Month for her efforts in the ring during the month of February, the conference office announced this week.
The Bloomfield, Conn. native has competed in all meets for the Bulldogs this season in Flat and Fences. This honor marks her first conference Rider of the Month award this season and the third of her career.
Brown went 2-1 in February, collecting a pair of MOP honors against top-ranked teams. Her first win came against No.3 Texas A&M, outscoring her opponent by 3.5 points to win the MOP, the first of her Flat career.
Her second win and MOP honor came against top-ranked Auburn, where she topped her opponent 81.5-79.5. The senior's two MOPs were the most by a Georgia equestrian this month.
Georgia (7-4, 3-3 SEC) is enjoying a three-week break before returning to action at the SEC Championship in Auburn, Alabama March 27-28. The reigning national champion Bulldogs will then await their seeding for the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) National Championship on April 16-18 in Ocala, Florida.
