March 02, 2026 | Women's Golf

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. --- Karoline Tuttle's 1-under 70 led the Georgia women's golf team to a 303 in Monday's opening round of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at Long Cove Club. The Bulldogs are in 15th place in a stacked field that features four top-10 and 11 top-25 teams.

Five Fast Facts
• Tuttle was the first red number off the course on Monday and one of just seven of the 90 golfers in the field to shoot under par in the first round. She was 2-under at the turn following consecutive birdies at No. 5 and No. 6. Tuttle moved to 3-under with a birdie at No. 10 but gave that back after her first bogey of the day at No. 11. Following a fourth birdie at No. 13, Tuttle slipped to 1-under with bogeys at No. 17 and No. 18.
• The Bulldogs additional counting scores were a 75 from freshman Trinity Beth and a pair of 79 from Gabriella Albert and Sydney Givens.
• Tuttle is tied for fifth on the individual leaderboard, six shots off the pace of Farah O'Keefe of Texas. In addition, Beth is 38th, Albert and Givens are tied for 71st and Maria Eidhagen Harrouch, who shot 82, is 84th.
• Georgia was 11-over through 16 holes but struggled late and played No. 17 and No. 18 at a combined 8-over.
• The Bulldogs will be paired with Alabama and individual golfers from South Carolina, Vanderbilt and Ohio State for Tuesday's second round, teeing off from No. 10 in 10-minute intervals between 9:30-10:10 a.m. ET.

Notable Quotes
Head Coach Erika Brennan:
"Today was tough and the finish was definitely not what we needed. I thought they hung in so well through some really difficult holes and then we just didn't close out our rounds. This golf course is a tough test and it's so much more about bogey and big number avoidance especially when the wind is up. We are ready to get back out there because we know we are capable of more. Karoline was such a bright spot today - she stayed in the fight and had great control over her trajectory. She putted well today!"

Redshirt junior Karoline Tuttle:
"I thought I plotted my way around a tough, windy golf course nicely today. Taking one shot at a time and putting well was key to the under par round. I know this team has it in us, so looking forward to seeing what we can do the next few days."
