Bulldogs Earn Second Straight NCAA Tournament Bid

ATHENS, Ga. — The Georgia Bulldogs received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament on Sunday as the No. 8 seed in the Midwest Regional. Georgia will play its Round of 64 game against Saint Louis on Thursday at KeyBank Center in Buffalo.
Game time and TV information will be released later tonight.
"(We're) excited to still be playing," head coach Mike White said. "Excited to represent University of Georgia in the NCAA Tournament. Continue to love coaching these guys. We're playing a dangerous team, and we're pretty dangerous ourselves. We had a great regular season and had a great fight the other day, after a really slow start in the SEC Tournament. We're just honored to have another chance to see where this thing takes us. Excited for these guys to be able to compete again together."
Officially, this will be the Bulldogs' 11th NCAA Tournament appearance, including a trip to the Final Four in 1983. Last season, Georgia earned its first NCAA bid in a decade as the No. 9 seed in the Midwest Regional.
The Bulldogs will be appearing in the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year, just the fourth time Georgia has earned bids to back-to-back tournaments. The Bulldogs also did so in 1990-91, 1996-97 and 2001-02.
The 2025-26 Bulldogs are already the winningest and highest-scoring team in 121 seasons of Georgia Basketball. The Bulldogs secured their 22nd regular-season win at Mississippi State on March 7, passing the 1930-31 and 1996-97 teams for the school record. Georgia also broke its single-season mark for most points in Starkville. The Bulldogs have now scored 2,874 points in 32 games, besting the 2,764 points scored in 37 games during the 2023-24 campaign.
Jeremiah Wilkinson leads a quartet of Bulldogs scoring in double figures at 17.0 ppg, followed by Blue Cain with 13.3 ppg, Kanon Catchings at 12.0 ppg and Marcus "Smurf" Millender at 11.9 ppg. Ten different Bulldogs have combined to produce 130 double-figure scoring outputs this season.
Mike White has now led teams to postseason bids in 12 of 14 seasons possible as a head coach, including NCAA bids in six of the last nine campaigns. In addition, he had Florida poised for a single-digit NCAA seed in 2020 when the tourney was canceled that season due to COVID 19.
