Reynolds Dean Named Top-100 Assistant Coach
October 08, 2026 | Men's Basketball
ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia associate head coach Antonio Reynolds Dean has been tabbed one 100 most impactful/influential high major assistant coaches in college basketball by Silver Waves Media.
A native of Atlanta, Reynolds Dean is beginning his fifth season with the Bulldogs. He joined the program shortly after Mike White was named head coach in 2022 and since then, Georgia has shown consistent and impressive growth each season.
In Reynolds Dean's first year, the Bulldogs won 10 more regular-season wins than the previous year – the second-biggest improvement of all Power Conference teams that season. The following campaign, Georgia advanced to the semifinals of the NIT and reached the 20-win mark for the first time since 2016. In 2025, Reynolds Dean helped the Bulldogs secure their first NCAA Tournament bid since 2015. Last season, Georgia posted a school-record 22 regular-season wins and the Bulldogs earned their first back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances since 2001 and 2002.
Prior to arriving in Athens, Reynolds Dean spent five seasons at Clemson from 2017-22, helping the Tigers to a pair of NCAA Tournament bids and an NIT appearance. He also helped coach Rhode Island, his alma mater, to an NCAA Tournament bid in 2017 and Northeastern to a pair of NIT invites in 2010 and 2013.
Reynolds Dean was at Rhode Island from 2015-17, at the College of Charleston for the 2014-15 season and at Northeastern for five campaigns from 2009-14. He spent 2008-09 at Fairfield as the Director of Basketball Operations.
As a player, Reynolds Dean was a two-time all-state performer at Atlanta's Frederick Douglass High. He enjoyed a standout career at Rhode Island, where he was the 1996 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year and an All-Atlantic 10 selection in 1999. Rhode Island earned three NCAA Tournament bids during his career, highlighted by a trip to the 1998 "Elite Eight." A 2015 inductee into the URI Athletic Hall of Fame, Reynolds Dean is the only person in Rhode Island men's basketball history to play on and coach for an Atlantic 10 Championship team.
