Bulldogs Continue Play At Kitty Harrison Invitational Day Two

CHAPEL HILL N.C. — The Georgia women's tennis team earned nine combined victories across singles and doubles play at the Kitty Harrison Invitational.

Fast Facts:

The Bulldogs opened the day with doubles play as freshmen duo Emily Deming and Emma Dong set the tone with a 6-5 victory over UNCC's Yelyzaveta Chainykova and Paula Dougherty.
No. 28 Aysegul Mert opened singles play for the Bulldogs grabbing a ranked victory over Dukes No. 14 Irina Balus, 5-7, 6-0, 6-3.
No. 100 Sofia took down No. 49 Liv Hovde in a two-set victory, 6-4, 6-0 adding another ranked win to her overall record.
Emma Dong earned her first collegiate singles win over Duke's Katie Codd, 6-3, 6-2.
Deniz Dilek fought hard for a come-from-behind win against Duke's Shavit Kimchi, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 marking just her second career victory.
Patricija Paukstyte came out on top over Duke's Claire Ann, 2-6, 6-2, 6-0 going undefeated so far this weekend.
Emily Deming conquered Yelyzaveta Chainykova from Charlotte in a two-set tiebreaker 6-3, 7-6(6).
Hayden Mulberry defeated Charlotte's Andrea Chacon 6-4, 6-4 totaling seven singles wins on the day for the Dawgs.
In doubles, Mert and Mulberry fought hard coming short, 5-7, to Duke's Hovde and Kimchi.
Rookie pair Dilek and Paukstyte dominated Duke's Cod and An, 6-3 adding Georgia's first doubles win of the day.
Deming and Dong closed out doubles with a win over Charlotte's pair of Chainykova and Dougherty, 7-5.
