Bulldog Women Conclude NCAA East Regional with Nine Qualifications For Nationals

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --- Nine more Bulldogs advanced to the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Saturday as the Georgia women's track & field team wrapped up the fourth and final day of the NCAA East Regional in Jacksonville.

- Elena Kulichenko only needed two attempts to advance to Nationals, clearing 1.79 meters/5 feet, 11.50 inches before recording a mark of 1.82m/5-11.50 to tie for first in Jacksonville. She was one of seven high jumpers to clear the mark and just one of two to clear every bar during the competition.
- Skylynn Townsend placed second in the triple jump with a mark of 13.48m/44-2.75, earning a spot at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in her freshman season with the Bulldogs.
- The women's 4x100-meter relay team of Karsen Phillips, Reign Redmond, Sanaa Frederick and Dejanea Oakley became the No. 4 performers in Georgia history with their time of 43.11, winning their heat and punching their ticket to Eugene with the fourth-fastest time overall.
- Kaila Jackson and Reign Redmond both advanced to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 100-meter dash, finishing 10th and 12th with respective times of 10.17 and 10.24. Redmond's time was a personal best and moved her to fifth in school history in the event.
- Aaliyah Butler and Dejanea Oakley posted a 1-2 finish in the 400m quarterfinals to punch their tickets to Eugene. Butler crossed the line in 50.68 while Oakley finished just behind in 50.70. Both sprinters won their respective heats.
- Michelle Smith won her heat with a time of 55.25 to advance to Eugene in the 400m hurdles. The freshman placed second overall in the quarterfinals in Jacksonville.
- The women's 4x400m team of Michelle Smith, Dejanea Oakley, Sydney Harris, and Aaliyah Butler clocked a facility record time of 3:25.80 to cross the finish line first overall. The quartet moved to third in program history with their performance.
