Murrell-Ross Wins Shot Put, Bulldogs Better Six Top-10 Marks At Florida Relays

GAINESVILLE, Fla. --- Senior Kelsie Murrell-Ross picked up a win in the shot put while the Bulldogs bettered six program all-time marks across the running events as the Georgia track & field teams wrapped up competition at the Florida Relays on Saturday.

- Murrell-Ross won the shot put invite with a throw of 17.74 meters/58 feet, 2.50 inches. She came within two feet of her personal best, which places her second on the Georgia all-time performance list outdoors.
- The women's 4x100-meter relay team of Kaila Jackson, Reign Redmond, Sanaa Frederick, and Dejanea Oakley clocked a time of 43.18 to finish runner-up in the event. The quartet posted the No. 3 time in program history with their performance, surpassing Friday's time of 43.87 set by Jackson, Redmond, Frederick, and Karsen Phillips.
- The women's and men's 4x400m relay teams both posted top-10 times in program history in the invite events to wrap up the day. Michelle Smith, Oakley, Sole Frederick, and Haley Tate clocked the No. 5 time in program history (3:30.87) to finish fifth in Gainesville while Xai Ricks, Will Floyd, Shemar Chambers, and Ervin Pearson placed third with the No. 6 time in school history (3:02.79).
- Freshman Jayden Keys shot into sixth in program history in the 110-meter hurdles, posting a 13.80 in the prelims before improving his time to 13.73 in the finals. Keys finished seventh overall in both the prelims and finals.
- Ricks climbed to ninth in program history in the 400m, crossing the finish line in 45.75 to place fifth in Gainesville. He was one of three Bulldogs who finished in the top 10 in the event, with Chambers (45.86) and Pearson (46.06) placing seventh and 10th, respectively.
- Reign Redmond matched her own No. 9 time in program history in the 100m, clocking an 11.35 to place 7th. Sanaa Frederick also posted a top-10 finish with a wind-assisted 11.44 to place 10th overall.
