Georgia Defeats Texas A&M For a Ticket to The NCEA National Championship

OCALA, F.L. – The seventh-seeded University of Georgia equestrian team has secured a ticket to the NCEA National Championship final after its outstanding 16-4 victory against sixth-seeded Texas A&M on Friday afternoon at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida.

Georgia built a strong first-half lead after sweeping the Fences competition, 5-0, with Melissa Deryn Foster's high score of 86.7 on Hardy.
The Bulldogs continued their hot streak with a 4-1 score in Reining.
Raegan Shepherd earned the highest score in the reining competition, scoring 72.3 on Cowgirl.
Georgia closed out on a high note with another 5-0 sweep in Flat. Sophia Pilla, SEC Flat Rider of the Year secured the meet-winning point and the highest score in Flat competition with an 86.3 on Georgie.
The final score, 16-4, marks the largest margin of victory against the Aggies since April 19, 2018.
