Magahey and Koski Earn First Team All-America Honors

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Three All-American swims powered another strong night for the University of Georgia men's swimming and diving team at the 2025 NCAA Division I Men's Swimming & Diving Championships Thursday evening at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center.
Following two nights of competition, Georgia stands in seventh place with 92 points. Texas leads the overall standings with 190 points, followed by California in second with 159.5 and Indiana in third at 146.
Events
500y Freestyle – Graduate Jake Magahey surged in the final yards to finish fourth with a time of 4:09.03, the ninth-fastest time in program history and 13th sub-4:10 time of his illustrious career. Magahey finished his 500y free career with five top-four finishes in the event, including his national title in 2021. Sophomore Tomas Koski finished just behind in fifth place with a time of 4:09.15, earning his first individual First Team All-America honor. In prelims, Koski also finished fifth with a time of 4:09.01, the 10th-fastest mark in program history.
200y Individual Medley – Redshirt senior Luca Urlando prevailed wire-to-wire in the consolation final with time of 1:40.53, the second-fastest time of both his career and in program history. In prelims, Urlando finished 14th at 1:41.61, while freshman Drew Hitchcock placed 32nd with a new personal-best time of 1:42.94, making him the eighth-fastest performer in program history.
1-meter Diving – Junior Renato Calderaro finished 32nd with a score of 295.35, closing his event with a top score of 57.60 on his sixth dive. Sophomore Matthew Bray finished 43rd with a score oof 267.80, earning his top marks of 52.50 on his fourth dive.
