Stege and McCulloh Earn All-America Honors at NCAAs

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Seniors Rachel Stege and Abby McCulloh added to their All-America honors with top-16 finishes at the NCAA Division I Women's Swimming & Diving Championships Thursday evening at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center.
Following two nights of competition, Georgia ranks 13th overall with 38 points. Virginia leads the standings with 225 points, followed by Stanford (178) and Texas (152).
Events
500y Freestyle – Stege earned her third-consecutive First Team All-America honor with a time of 4:36.41, finishing eighth overall. McCulloh picked up Second Team All-America accolades with a 12th-place finish of 4:37.99. In prelims, fellow senior Duné Coetzee placed 19th with a time of 4:39.14, while junior Shea Furse took 28th place at 4:40.21.
200y Individual Medley – Junior Ieva Maluka finished 21st in prelims with a time of 1:55.95, while freshman Marie Landreneau finished 50th with a time of 1:59.02.
50y Freestyle – Senior Eboni McCarty tied for 46th with a time of 22.27, while sophomore Helena Jones tied for 52nd at 22.32.
200y Freestyle Relay – McCarty, graduate Julianna Stephens, freshman Katie Belle Sikes, and Jones teamed up to earn Second Team All-America honors with a 12th-place time of 1:27.23, the 10th-fastest mark in program history. McCarty led off with a 22.13, while Sikes posted a 9.87 on her first 25 yards, the second-fastest time of any competitor in the event.
