KEY QUOTES

Georgia Co-Head Coach, Ryan Roberts
On giving Oklahoma a close meet...
"That was amazing. We came in. Obviously, our two dominant hits last week were vault and bars. When we came in, we did our season high on vault, definitely our season high on bars. We did what we were looking to do. Carrying that momentum through every event, it's going to be super important. I heard them say, they're building, they're listening to everything that we're trying to tell them, they're taking everything in. This kind of a score after this is going to catalyze more and just prove to them that they have the ability to compete with anybody. I think it was a huge step for us as team."

Depth of underclassmen...
"We are only losing one senior on vault from this year to next year, which is a nice thing. It's a young team, and for them to be able to compete like they have consistently. That's a pretty big deal because we're just going to be adding more depth, and we're adding more high caliber recruits, so this is just the floor, and we're going to keep raising the floor. And what we're doing is working, and we all just trust in the process, and we hit our routines. It's pretty cool to be able to kind of finish that on the last whole meet of the year."

Freshman, Nyla Aquino
On peaking at the right time. . .
"It feels great because we've been putting in the work. Preseason we started competing. It was hard, but we did it every day. We give it our all every single day, and it's just really exciting to see that showing off and peaking at the right time."

Sophomore, Lily Smith
On carrying the momentum from tonight's meet into SECs. . .
"Every time we're back in that gym, we're thinking about every single thing that's in that summary, we're thinking about every single thing that our coaches are telling us, and we're making sure that that's exactly what we think about when we go out there. Whether it's 1% better or 10% better, everything makes a difference. Every single point, every single half tenth, every single quarter tenth, that makes a difference, and that's what we did today."

UP NEXT:
Georgia Gymnastics will travel to Birmingham, Ala. next Saturday, March 22 for the SEC Championship at Legacy Arena. The GymDogs secured their spot in the tournament with tonight's performance.
