ATHENS, Ga. --- Somto Cyril's career-high double-double of 15 points and 15 rebounds led the No. 23-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (11-1) to a 103-74 win over West Georgia (6-6) before a sellout crowd at Stegeman Coliseum on Monday afternoon.

FAST FACTS
- Georgia is leading the nation in scoring offense at 99.8 points per game. That will be the highest average by a Division I men's basketball team on Christmas in nine years, since The Citadel was averaging 103.2 ppg in 2016.
- Blue Cain led six Bulldogs in double figures against the Wolves with 20 points, followed by Jeremiah Wilkinson with 19, Cyril with 15, Marcus "Smurf" Millender with 12 and Jordan Ross and Kareem Stagg both with 10.
- Georgia 44-24 with 4:12 left in the first half before West Georgia pulled within eight at the intermission and closed the gap to five points three times early in the second stanza.
- Up 50-45, the Bulldogs used an 11-0 surge over a span of 94 seconds to regain control.
- Cyril was 6-of-6 from the field for the third consecutive game, connecting on 18 straight field goals.
- Cyril notched his third-straight career-high offensive output, with 13 points against Cincinnati and 14 versus Western Carolina before today's 15.
- Cyril's 15 rebounds are the most by a Bulldog in a game since Toumani Camara grabbed 17 boards against Montana on Dec. 8, 2020.
- Georgia topped 100 points for a school-record sixth time, surpassing five such tallies during the 1990-91 season. Six 100-point performances equals the third most by an SEC team over the past 20 seasons, trailing Alabama in 2023-24 (10) and Alabama in 2024-25 (9) and tying Kentucky in 2023-24 (6).
- Georgia's men's and women's basketball programs are a combined 24-1 this season, the best start in Georgia Basketball history. The Bulldogs are 11-1 and the Lady Bulldogs are 13-0.
KEY QUOTES:
Georgia Head Coach Mike White
Opening Statement
"I thought the first 15 minutes of the game we were pretty sharp, especially for it being the last one before a long break for our guys. Then [West Georgia] went on a heck of a run once we were up 20 [points] with 3:50 left in the first half. We found ourselves up eight at halftime, and they cut it to five. Then, I thought our full-court pressure was the biggest factor allowing us to get a lead and extend a lead. We had a group in there for a little bit, led by Dylan James. I thought his energy was fantastic defensively at the point of our press, and made some things happen. Again, we were able to stretch it out a little bit. I think West Georgia is very good. They execute really, really well, and they've got guys who can go make shots off the bounce. They've got shooting, and they've got some size, steps out and made some threes. They were down a player, too. I think they've got a chance to be good in their league. I was appreciative of the crowd. December 22 at two o'clock. Pretty unique scenario for a fan base and represented well. I think it was a sellout. I think it kind of speaks to marketing and our administration and the growth of our programs. I'm appreciative to our fans. We're ready for a break. Ready for our guys, especially, to be able to get away from it physically and mentally, so we can come back recharged for one more tune-up before the grind of the SEC. But, LIU is good."

On the talent of the offense…
"You can't lead others unless you can lead yourself. He's learned how to do that to a certain extent. He's got more growth to do in that category, as all sophomores do, but he's come a long way from his freshman year from a cardiovascular standpoint, skill-level standpoint, maturity standpoint, controlling his emotions with the fouls and that type of stuff. Sometimes when you've got a 7'6 wingspan and you're 260 and you're the elite shot blocker that he is, sometimes he's the recipient of a tough one, a tough call from time to time, or a shove called against him that may not be called against others because he's so strong. All big [players] feel like they're picked on at times, but I do feel like he is picked on at times. He's learned how to just move on to the next play better. Will he take a couple steps backward at times moving forward? Probably, I just hope not a bunch, but he owns that. He's growing every day – mentally more than physically. Now, when he's able to be in a really good place, he can use his voice, and as long as he's modeling it, it's, it's got substance. He was really good. I mean, this guy hadn't missed a shot in about a month. It's crazy."
Â
On Somto Cyril's improvements...
"We were very good in practice the last couple days. Again, I thought we were pretty good the first 15 minutes and then the first 15 minutes the second half, I would say good. We were good, probably as good as we've been in the last five minutes of the game, not quite as good. Those things are tough scenarios, sometimes for young people. Again, credit to West Georgia. To answer your question, were we better the last three days. Did our guys respond from the last game defensively? Absolutely, but we've got a ways to go."

On Georgia setting a program record for 100-point games in a season...
"I did media on the court, and they told me that after the game. It's cool, but I would say we just – the whole theme of our team is just trying to play the right way the whole game. So, whenever we get close, we're not really concerned with the score. We're just trying to get the best shot we can, and then whatever the score is, the score is."
Â
On the defensive effort to start the second half...
"Like you said, offense all starts with defense. I think a lot of people talk about us offensively, but I think when we're at our best, it's when we're getting a lot of stops because that allows us to get out and get easy baskets. I think it all starts defensively."
Â
#2 | Somto Cyril | Center | So.
On the defensive effort...
"I think today was much better than the last game. I think we had a solid 17 minutes of play towards the end. We kind of let go a little bit. Overall, it was better than the last game. Do I think it could get better? Yeah. We just have to get better everyday and grow from there."Â
Â
On the message to the team before this game...
"It's just the things we know we can do and how we can do it. Just challenging ourselves and trying to get guys to be motivated to play harder – as hard as we know we can play. Just being out here and trying to figure things out. We're going to make some mistakes, and we're going to mess up sometimes but just know who we are as a team and what we can do – what we are capable of doing. It's just figuring it out in the process of winning a basketball game. It's not going to be perfect, but we've got to figure it out."
