ATHENS, Ga. – The No. 11 national seed Georgia softball team run-ruled UNCW in five innings 8-0 on Friday at Jack Turner Stadium. Senior Madison Kerpics one-hit the Seahawks to highlight the game for the Bulldogs.

• Madison Kerpics last held an opponent to one or less hit on March 9 when she no-hit Jacksonville State. It was her third shutout of the season.
• Sara Mosley's first inning grand slam was her second grand slam of the season and of her career. It was home run number 63 of her career. Moving her closer to the record of 68 held by Alyssa DiCarlo.

"Really pleased with the mindset that we had. I thought the defense was really sharp. Madison [Kerpics] controlled things in the circle, and, you know, turning the double plays, and getting a couple lead runners, things that we've been working on. It was really great to see our team put that into play. I thought our hitters did a good job of controlling the strike zone and then Sara [Mosley] certainly got the big hit too, you know, kind of take some of the pressure off and just let us play softball the rest of the game. So, really pleased with that performance. UNCW has a good team. They're well coached. The pitchers do a good job, and thankful to be moving on."
On how the team's offensive mindset showed up today...
"We've had a really good week of practice, from when we got back from the SEC tournament. We practiced well leading up to the SEC Tournament even though that was during finals -- kind of odd -- but when we came back, the practices had really been intentional. The players have done a really good job investing in what we're trying to get accomplished. And then, just to see them carry that kind of freedom and discipline into the box was big today and certainly it's going to be important again tomorrow."

"It's awesome. Just having fun with each other and really just competing together. Just having fun and investing in each other. The outcomes are going to take care of themselves when you're doing those things."

"It's so nice. Just having all the pressure off of me and then being able to pitch free out there. I love our offense, and they're so good. I just love this team and when they can do that for me, it just makes you want to go out there do better."
