No. 7 Georgia to Face Eighth-Ranked South Carolina

ATHENS – The No. 7 University of Georgia equestrian team will travel to its first away competition to take on No. 8 South Carolina on Friday at 11 a.m. at One Wood Farm in Blythewood, S.C.
The Bulldogs (1-2, 1-0 SEC) are coming off a tie-breaker win over second-ranked Texas A&M at home. Fifth-year Jordan Toering and sophomore Cadence Eger were named the Most Outstanding Performers. Senior Catalina Peralta posted a score of 91 in Fences, tabbing her second ride with a score of 90 or higher on the weekend.
The Bulldogs lead the all-time series against the Gamecocks (2-2, 0-2 SEC) 29-13. Georgia was undefeated against South Carolina, 3-0, in meetings last season. In the most recent competition at the SEC Championship, Georgia defeated South Carolina 12-7. The Bulldogs earned two MOP honors as Peralta was awarded in Fences after scoring a 87.67 and beating her opponent by four points. Sophomore Raegan Shepherd was recognized in Reining with a score of 72.
The Gamecocks opened the season with wins over Delaware State and Minnesota Crookston. They then competed against a pair of top-five opponents, suffering losses to No. 1 Auburn and No. 2 Texas A&M.
