Georgia concluded non-conference play against a pair of ACC teams last week. The Bulldogs earned a shutout of NC State at Barnhill Arena in Fayetteville, Arkansas on Thursday. It was Georgia's sixth sweep of the season. Sophie Fischer led Georgia's offense with 12 kills against the Wolfpack with a .450 hitting percentage. She also led Georgia's efforts at the net with five blocks. Meghan Froemming picked up a season-high 11 kills, hitting .667 while freshman Estelle Haugen laid down a season best nine kills. Georgia hosted No. 7 Georgia Tech at Stegeman Coliseum on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets bested the Bulldogs in three sets as Georgia concluded the non-conference slate 9-2, the best since the 2018 season when the Bulldogs started with the same record to begin the season.

Georgia has consistently had strong serving since Tom Black's arrival in Athens and 2022 has been no difference. Nationally, Georgia's 1.97 aces per set ranks 30th while checking in at third in the SEC. Georgia's 75 total aces ranks third in the league. Individually, Kacie Evans (0.46 aces/set) ranks in the top 100 in the country and sixth in the SEC.Â

After 11 matches in 2022, Kacie Evans' 4.14 kills per set ranks 32nd in the country and fourth in the SEC. She's second in the conference with a 4.69 points per set average, a clip that currently ranks 19th in the country.Â

During the third set of Georgia's match against Texas Tech Sept. 3 at Stegeman Coliseum, senior outside hitter Kacie Evans became the newest member of Georgia's 1,000-Kill Club. She is the 19th all-time member of the club and the second under Tom Black, Rachel Ritchie (2017-21) being the other.Â
