BISHOP, Ga. – For the first time since the 2017-18 season, the No. 6 University of Georgia equestrian team defeated No. 1 Auburn, 13-7. Friday's win also marks the first home win over the Tigers since 2016.

Senior Lindsay Guynn and Freshman Catalina Peralta took home MOP honors for Georgia. Guynn's Reining ride marks her second MOP win this season while Peralta's Fences MOP is the first of her career.

"The energy was just phenomenal everywhere we looked," said Georgia head coach Meghan Boenig. "It gave us a ton of confidence to go in, show off, and have some presence about what we were doing. Laying out huge scores, being risky on the first rides. So, I thought we really cleaned up. We were very disciplined and focused coming off last weekend and I am just so proud."

On the Jumping Seat side, competition started off in Fences. Georgia riders won four-of-the-five points. Jordan Toering claimed the first point, 83-77, followed by Peralta's 90-86 win. Hayley Mairano grabbed the next point, 88-83 and Rachel McMullen earned the final Georgia point, 86-85.

Auburn's Horsemanship team showed their dominance right away. The Tigers claimed four points, with the lone Georgia point going to Jillian Stopperich. The freshman defeated Madison Parduhn, 75.5-74.

Georgia and Auburn were tied, 5-5, going into the second half of competition.

Competition resumed in Flat and Reining. Ceci Bresch earned the first Flat point, 90-82.5. Toering won 89-87 and Mairano defeated her Tiger opponent, 93.5-89.5 Auburn riders won the last two Flat points.

Bulldog riders swept Auburn in Reining, winning all five points. Jax Bound's point came first, winning 72-69.5. The next ride earned Guynn MOP honors with a 72-68 win. Caitlin Lyons followed with the meet-clinching point, 67.5-0. Isabella Hehr added to Georgia's total and Courtney Blumer rounded out the competition with a 70.5-69.5 win.

The Bulldogs will finish off the home season tomorrow, Saturday, March 5, at 10:00a.m. ET as the team competes against UT Martin on Senior Day.
