MEET NOTES

ATHENS, Ga. ---The University of Georgia gymnastics team will host its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day meet against Iowa State on Monday, January 20 at 2 p.m. in Stegeman Coliseum.

Georgia is undefeated against Iowa State, winning 12 straight matchups. The teams met twice in Stegeman during the 2019 season, first in a regular season meet and then at the NCAA Athens Regional.

The Georgia vault, beam, and floor lineups looked strong against LSU. On vault and beam the GymDogs posted scores of 49.325 and 49.225, which are marks the team did not hit until week five in 2019. Similarly, the floor squad did not hit the mark of 49.550 until week 11 last year.

The GymDogs are showing continued improvement and look to build on strong routines as the season moves forward.

Georgia has a quick turnaround as the GymDogs will travel to Fort Worth, Texas to compete at the Metroplex Challenge on Saturday, January 25, before returning home to host Auburn on Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 2) at 4 p.m.
